UNIVERSAL CITY, California — Kat Graham will be asking everyone who they’re wearing when she hits the 2012 MTV Movie Awards red carpet this Sunday. The “Vampire Diaries” star and singer has been handpicked to be MTV’s Special Style Correspondent on the red carpet before all the madness kicks off for the main show.
Before Graham hits the carpet at the Gibson Amphitheatre on Sunday, she needs that perfect outfit to wear for the festivities. And she invited MTV News along for a special fitting.
“No pressure! I just have to be very familiar with the designers and the artists and everyone nominated,” she said. “It’s slightly terrifying, but it’s going to be really fun.”
When it comes to her look, she explained that she has a specific philosophy. “I wanted to have something that was different, especially since I’m the fashion correspondent,” she said. “And I want to set a standard.”
To find out what she does end up wearing, tune in to the pre-show on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on MTV during the “Movie Awards Punk’d Pre-Party.” Graham will join MTV News’ very own Sway Calloway, Josh Horowitz and Jim Cantiello as they chat up all the big stars. The night will also feature a very special new episode of “Punk’d” with pro-pranker Ashton Kutcher pulling fast ones on Drake and Kim Kardashian.

Kat Graham will be reporting as Special Style Correspondent on the 2012 MTV Movie Awards Red Carpet Pre-Show AND the MTV Style Red Carpet Report this weekend! Amazing, right?! As Special Style Correspondent of the pre-show, which you can catch this Sunday at 8:00 PM ET/PT on MTV, she’ll be joining Josh Horowitz, Jim Cantiello and Sway Calloway from MTV News and talk to everyone from Chloe Moretz to Leighton Meester to Andy Samberg (yep, really!) on the red carpet. She told us, “I’m looking forward to being a part of bringing the show to the fun level it always arrives at. We’re going to be bringing fashion/fierce/pop to a show honoring amazing talent, and showing how we do it the MTV way!” And, yes, there will be even MORE Kat Graham/fashion amazingness right here on MTV Style, so be sure check back in for the full red carpet report.

As part of promotion of her EP ‘Against the Wall’, which was released today – buy it on iTunes now! – Kat appeared on the Ellen Show today to perform ‘Put My Graffiti on Me’. She rocked it! Watch below:
Her performance was dedicated to Jennifer Tyrrell, a mother of four from Bridgeport, Ohio who was ousted from the Boy Scouts of America last month because she is gay. You can support Jennifer by signing this petition. You can also see her backstage talking about it below:

Hey guys, so I’ve been pretty busy and I’ve gotten a bit behind with Kat updates. Luckily there weren’t too many!
Kat shared a cute little video announcing that she’ll be on Ellen tomorrow, watch that below.

Kat made her debut on Hip Hop Squares last week, which you can watch (if you’re in the US) below. I’m still trying to get my hands on an internationally available version (I haven’t been able to watch it myself!) Also, MTV released this statement about the show’s debut.
MTV2’s debut of the original comedic-game show series “Hip Hop Squares” proved a winner last night as it became the highest rated P12-34 original series launch with a .39 and the most watched original series premiere among P12-34 in the network’s history.
On the social front, @MTV_2 and #HipHopSquares spurred conversation last night, becoming a trending topic nationally on Twitter and among the Top 10 most social programs for the night per Trendrr’s “Top 20 Cable” and the “Social Guide Series Report.”
